Reservation Policy

1. You must read and understand the “trip details” pdf. Download it from the “about trip” page on our website. Especially pay attention to whether your physical condition is sufficient for the activity.

2. Cancellations Policy. We only provide refunds for cancellations due to river closure or “acts of God.” For river closures we offer refund (less 5% booking fee) or the option to be issued a coupon for purchase on another day. We do our best to rebook your trip but since there are limited days in the season we can make no guarantees when the river is closed unexpectedly.   Requests for refund due to river closure or “acts of God” must be made by purchasers to LA River Kayak Safari within 10 days of your scheduled event.  Refunds will be issued within 14 business days from timely receipt of request for refund due to river closure or act of God.

3. Rescheduling your booked trip for another date another date requires cancellation of your original tickets and is not permitted. Purchaser understands that when you purchase you are purchasing tickets for the unique day and time indicated in the booking process.

4. You will be required to sign a standard insurance waiver both for us as operators and for the Park Authority who administers the LA River recreation zone.

5. VERY IMPORTANT. If you are late you will forfeit your trip without refund. We have permits for specific put in times and we must be on time. Please allow ample time for driving and parking.

6. You will wear appropriate footwear (no flip flops or open toe shoes) as described in the about trip PDF. If you show up with flip-flop type shoes we will have to refuse to take you down the river as our permit requires you to wear appropriate footwear. You will not receive a refund if you show up without appropriate footwear.

7. You do not weigh over 210 lbs and are in sufficient physical condition to manage getting in and out of your kayak without assistance on occasion during the trip. This policy is not intended to discriminate in any way but is based on the safe limits of the boats in the LA River.

8. You understand that an LA River Kayak Safari is an outdoor adventure where unpredictable things may happen.

Details

You are purchasing all of the services and equipment described. This is a trip where you participate in moving kayaks in and out of the water (in pairs with partners.) This includes bringing 38 lb kayaks up and down the embankment with a partner. Each individual will have their own kayak and all equipment, including safety equipment. By making a reservation you certify that:

1. You are in sufficient physical condition to manage sharing the carrying of a 38 lb kayak with another person.

2. You do not weigh over 210 lbs. and are in sufficient physical condition to undertake the trip described in the about trip.pdf. We do not discriminate but our boats for this river can only accommodate persons 210 lbs or less. Email for questions.

3. You understand that river kayaking may get you wet.

4. You are willing on occasion to get out of the your kayak to pull to pull it through rocky sections.

5. You have downloaded and read the “About this Trip” file for all relevant trip details.
